IMPORTANCE OF BEING VEGETARIAN

Let us find out the connections between Pitra Dosha or Pithru Dosham and Vegetarianism

The Hindu Vedas clearly teaches the importance of being a Vegetarian. We know the five sins that can not be nullified by doing Pithru Puja, Homams and Offerings. One among them is that we should never harass or harm any living creatures for our own pleasures.

Killing or maiming attracts maximum punishment from the God by "Brahmahatti Dosham". This "Brahmahatti Dosham" brings all kinds of ills and troubles. A person is equally guilty, if he/she is directly or indirectly responsible for maiming or killing of a living creature. Thus eating Non-Vegetarian dishes also bring some form of this Pitra Dosha or Pithru Dosham.

The Hindu Vedas also teach us that every person should also do Pitra Tharpanam or Pithru Tharpanam for killing or maiming any insects, worms or any other small living things unknowingly or unwittingly. We should also do Puja for Vegetables, Plants and Fruits that we eat.

In such case, just imagine  the trouble lies ahead for eating meat on a continious basis. Also imagine the plight of Butchers, Meat Stall owners, Poultry farm Owners and others involved in this trade. You can find out any one of the symptoms of Pitra Dosha or Pithru Dosham in their families.

1. Mentally troubled person within the family.
2. Physically handicapped person.
3. Sucide Attempt
4. Sucide or unnatural death.
5. Fire/Collateral damage to the living Place.

Just check with these facts with your neighbours, who involve in this trade. It is better to be a Vegetarian, which acts as a gurantee against this trouble like Pitra Dosha and helps to keep our body stronger too.
